Job Summary:

We are seeking talented bakers to join our team at the Niles Civic Center Plaza location. As a Baker, you will be responsible for assisting in the production of high-quality baked goods and ensuring that customers receive excellent service. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a variety of bakery items according to recipes and quality standards
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service
• Stock and replenish bakery products as needed
• Follow food safety guidelines and regulations

Qualifications:

• MUST BE AT LEAST 18+ YEARS OF AGE TO APPLY
• Strong teamwork and communication skills. Dependable, punctual, and committed to producing high-quality products
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to work full-time hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
• Current Food Handler Card required
• Physical Requirements This is an active position that requires: Continuous standing and walking throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Repetitive hand and arm movements
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, including bakery heat, coolers, and freezers
• Additional Requirements Must be available to work assigned shifts based on business needs
• This position requires moderate physical activity
• Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting

Job Description:

As the baker, your responsibilities will include the preparation of baked goods, proofing of various pastries and breads, and the upkeep of all baking equipment and supplies. You will be expected to strictly follow all safety and sanitation protocols while maintaining the standards set by 85°C. A commitment to customer satisfaction, safety standards, and a passion for providing consistent quality is a must in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events. 
• Preparing baked goods of different varieties and following 85C standard of procedure.
• Serves as an on-store food expert providing exceptional knowledge of our products and the ingredients used in those products.
• Consistently prepare quality food products by following the recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
• Able to work as early as 4AM and available to stay until 3PM as business needs.
• Be punctual for your assigned shifts.
• Assist in training new staff in successful performance and give respectful and encouraging coaching when needed. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Maintain a clean and healthy work environment.
  
• Ability to multitask while working as a team to deliver high standard products.
• Provide sufficient bread products and maintain bread quality to meet 85°C standard. 
• Cleaning and maintaining baking equipment with all safety and sanitation protocols.
  
• Organize and inventory walk-in freezer and walk-in cooler. 
• Assist with daily deliveries of ingredients.
• Maintain an unexpired and valid ServSafe Food Handlers License/Certification

Physical requirements:

• Working with heating equipment
• Be able to work in below freezing temperatures (freezer coats and gloves will be provided)
• Constant baking and food prep equipment usage
• Constant standing/walking, stooping/kneeling, squatting and carrying up to 50 lbs
• Constant reaching, turning, and performing precision work around baking areas.

This position requires moderate physical activity.
