What You Will Do
  • Lead a team of Baker Tilly and client resources through strategy definition, future state visioning, target operating model, roadmap development and delivery of transformation projects which may include business process and/or technology implementations
  • Utilize finance, accounting, industry, and operational knowledge to assist clients in transforming their organization to align with strategic goals, establish target operating models in alignment to industry standards and benchmarks. Lead the build and definition of operational metrics, roles and responsibilities and organizational structures to support.
  • Develop and standardize finance processes, manage contract financial compliance, and document policies and procedures
  • Define roles and responsibilities within the organization, establish reporting structures, and ensure effective governance mechanisms
  • Lead through transformative solution visioning and execution of the vision, including defining the future state organization. This encompasses designing the target operating model, aligning it with industry standards and benchmarks, and building clear roles and responsibilities, operational metrics, and organizational structures to support and enable the organization
  • Evaluate the current state, identify gaps, and provide strategic recommendations to optimize and mature the client's operating model
  • Develop, manage, and measure effectiveness of project approach and plans aligned to critical phases of implementation (analyze, design, build, test, deploy) and/or long-term roadmaps which deliver transformative operating models via a series of projects
  • Elicit and define requirements using multiple methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with federal financial regulations and mitigate financial, operational, and regulatory risks
  • Manage and implement multiple projects through delegation, coordination, communication, and organization. Coordinate deployment of projects included staffing resources, deadlines, and end user expectations
  • Ensure that all projects are properly documented, which includes a business case, business requirements, and implementation plan, maintaining document requirements for project managers and business owners
  • Manage third party vendor relationships to resource specific development needs
  • Act as the liaison among the executive committee members, stakeholders, and development team including identification and mitigation of project risks and issues
  • Support the development of the practice from go-to-market activities to delivery methodology standards and team development
  • Provide functional expertise based on your specific skills and background
  • Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and the community
  • Invest in your professional development individually and through participation in firm wide learning and development programs
  • Support the growth and development of team members and clients through the Baker Tilly Value Architect model, helping associates meet their professional goals

Successful candidates will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience; previous related industry and consulting experience highly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership in an industry such as Public Sector (state/local), Not for Profit, and/or Higher Education
  • Experience managing senior-level client relationships and working across an organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Extensive finance and accounting expertise with a proven track record in helping clients optimize and develop their finance organizations
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, see the "big picture" as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects
  • Ability to decompose scope into detailed activities and deliverables, then conduct work package handoff to delivery resources from Baker Tilly, client teams, and third-party vendors
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously, with a willingness to support different workstreams as needed
  • Ability to think creatively to solve problems gained through prior experience, education, training to resolve issues and remove project obstacles
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication, and highly developed Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
  • Project experience with full lifecycle application development (e.g. requirements gathering, use case development, system analysis and design, integration, testing, deployment)
  • Experience with enterprise technology system implementation and management
  • Project/program management certification (e.g. PMP, PgMP) and/or Agile certification (e.g. PMI-ACP, CSM, PSM. SAFe POPM) is a plus
  • Ability to travel as needed and work outside of core business hours for client engagements

The compensation range for this role is $203,900 to $441,780. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
