Job description

Join us for the 2026-2027 school year!
WAIVER Announcement: Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Bullitt County Public Schools is requesting a waiver to fill this position before the standard 15-day posting period to ensure we are fully staffed for the upcoming school year.
Prepare, cook, bake and serve a variety of foods in quantity at an assigned school site; assist in other food preparation duties as directed; maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition; train and provide work direction to others.
Position Details
Hours: 4 hours per day
Contract Length: 179 days per year
  • 170 student instructional days
  • 4 holidays
  • 5 extended days
Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date
Employment Status: Full-time with benefits
Employment Type: 10-month employee on the classified pay schedule
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED
  • Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.
Compensation & Experience Credit
2026-2027 Pay Scale
  • Starting Pay (Step 0): $15.48/hour
  • Experienced Pay (Step 10): $18.48/hour

  • The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.
Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.
