In this position...
The Ford Racing Electrical Team is seeking an independent, empowered and passionate Electrical Systems Integration Engineer to lead pre-design / design/launch of current and future Ford Racing vehicle programs.
What you'll do...
Responsible for design and development of Ford Performance-specific electrical content
Coordinate technical design reviews between component and EDS engineers to ensure system integrity in the design phase
  • Responsible for surveying Engineers for components that have electrical interfaces and ensuring those devices transmittals are populated into VSEM to support EDS wiring development.
  • Build DV Requirements for system-level electrical functions and perform validation testing to ensure product compliance
  • Support BOM signoffs for pre-production build events.
    Represent the electrical team on evaluation drives.
    Root cause and fix electrical issues on vehicles as they arise.
    Support offsite vehicle-level DV testing.
    Support breadboard activities by configuring, updating, and root causing electrical modules and systems.
  • Onsite support for vehicle builds at the assembly plant, representing the Electrical team and FSS (Full-Service Suppliers) and/or other internal/external resources to deliver subject programs.
  • Lead development of system designs that support vehicle performance targets.
  • Assure conformance to the Ford Racing DNA and all applicable Ford & regulatory requirements.
  • Develop innovative solutions for performance vehicles
  • Support supplier sourcing processes and FMA activities.
  • Handle deliverables to support program & engineering GPDS breakthroughs.
  • FEDE BOM / WERS / Bill of Material / AIMS / JIRA / 5/8Ds / FEDE DVP / Engineering Sign Off / QUIP / eCATs / IVS / VSCS / Software BOM / MSR.

Qualifications
You'll have...
  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 3+ years in automotive electrical systems and vehicle launch experience.
  • Proficient with GPDS deliverables and core Ford engineering systems (including FEDE, WERS, AIMS, JIRA, DFMEA, VSCS, DVP, and Software BOM).
  • Diagnostics & Networking: Hands-on experience with CAN tools, module flashing, network troubleshooting, bus queries, and CAN logging.
  • Ability to manage complex tasks and deliver results under tight timelines with outstanding organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and a proven ability to lead and build relationships with multi-functional teams (Program, Studio, Purchasing, Engineering, VE/VI/VO).
  • Passion: A strong passion for performance and racing vehicles is highly desirable.

Even Better, You May Have...
  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Active participation in Formula SAE (FSAE), Baja SAE, or amateur/professional motorsport engineering (wiring harness design, telemetry, or trackside support).
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard network analysis tools such as Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, or Intrepid Control Systems Vehicle Spy.
  • Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, Simulink, or C++ for automated CAN data log analysis, scripting, or test simulation.
  • Experience with HIL test setups, lab breadboards, and bench-testing electrical components using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and automotive cybersecurity protocols for connected modules.

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500., This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900. This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
