Job description

Job Description
The selected candidate will work from engineering design drawings, cable running sheets, diagrams, schematics and/or verbal and written instructions to build cable assemblies, electrical units, systems, and subsystems. Provides support, training and quality oversight to lower-level technicians.
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $28.79/hr.
This position is in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary's County.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma and at least 3 years of experience in cable / cable assembly manufacturing
Ability to use various hand and power tools
Ability to pass BAE Systems solder, cable fabrication and cable Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector training
Normal color perception
Ability to work as a team player
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience as QA inspector
Mechanical and / or electrical experience
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - Maritime Training (OSHA 1915) certification
Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
