Job description

RSG Landscaping, LLC. is currently seeking to hire a proven and experienced full-time Landscape Irrigation Technician for our Richmond, VA branch.


We are a full service, commercial landscaping firm with a presence throughout the Mid-Atlantic with headquarters in Concord, VA (branch offices in Roanoke and Richmond). We specialize in grounds maintenance, landscaping, irrigation systems, hardscaping and design/build projects for general contractors, construction projects, along with multiple segments of business, including general municipalities, school systems, private schools, residential communities, health care, higher education, professional centers, office suites, retail centers, hospitality, and commercial.


RSG Landscaping is a Drug Free Company. We conduct pre-employment drug screens


Experience:

  • Must have 2-5 years of experience as an Irrigation Technician.
  • Must possess strong irrigation skills consisting of conventional and 2-wire controllers and system operations along with installation of such
  • Must be familiar with scheduling and sequencing controllers including start times and run times.
  • Must have proven experience with trouble shooting valves, wiring, controllers, coverage issues and nozzle replacement.
  • Must be familiar with pump and drip systems
  • Must be able to assess irrigation systems and suggest modifications
  • At the beginning of each new project, conduct an on-site planning meeting with the Account Manager and job crew to ensure everyone is aware of the work to be performed and the time frame for completion
  • Submit enhancement and irrigation recommendations to Account Manager as needed
  • Ensure proper job site irrigation management. Ensure that irrigation amounts are proper. Ensure seasonal adjustments are made as required
  • Conducts walk-through meetings with customers and or other Managers
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with Clean DMV Record is required to drive a company vehicle.
  • Backflow Testing Certification and ability to repair is a plus.
  • Familiarity with basic irrigation tools and equipment
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather, lift at least 50 pounds and work on your feet all day
  • Irrigation, landscape, and plant materials knowledge is a plus
  • Must Successfully pass a Background Check and Drug Test.
