Job description

Job Overview:
Under direction of Construction Manager, provide support to soil excavation activities (digging around underground utilities loading trucks and stockpile soil, then backfill and site restoration including placing and compacting soils). Heavy Equipment Operators will be paid federal prevailing wage for work performed.
Project Description: Residential remedial excavation and backfill of 40 properties, metals contaminated soils.
The base company wage for the Heavy Equipment Operator position is $40.00 per hour. However, for this project, the Heavy Equipment Operator position will be paid the Federal prevailing wage for work performed.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Use of Sm- to Med-sized excavation equipment (mini-excavators, loaders, skid steers, etc)
  • Use of loaders, skid steers and compactors
  • Be safe and professional while working in residential communities
  • Ability to work in team environment in safe and productive manner
  • Clear vegetation
  • Perform backfill and site restoration

Basic Qualifications:
  • Civil Construction and/or environmental work experience
  • Must live within daily commute of Jackson, CA
  • No Felonies
  • Clean driving record with valid license
  • Dependable transportation and cell phone
  • Able to pass drug screen and physical
  • OSHA HAZWOPER Preferred

Work Schedule:
  • 5 days/week with 10 hrs/day

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $40 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
