Senior Backend Software Engineer (Growth Team)

Build and scale ZoomInfo’s core backend services using Java, design scalable microservices, and work with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑performance systems serving millions of users.

What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java and related frameworks
  • Architect and implement microservices that handle high‑volume traffic and complex business logic
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code following best practices
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in distributed systems
  • Contribute to technical architecture decisions and system design
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for backend services
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of experience with backend software development using Java
  • 3+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large‑scale distributed systems
  • 2+ years of experience leading projects and providing technical leadership
  • Strong expertise in Java frameworks and technologies (Spring Boot, Hibernate, Maven/Gradle)
  • Experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture
  • Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Experience with Node.js for backend development
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

  • Familiarity with message queuing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)

Actual compensation offered will be based on factors such as location, qualifications, skills, experience, and training.

$140,000 — $220,000 USD annually, plus bonus, equity, and other benefits.
