About the Role

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer on the team, you would be responsible for delivering key products in the pipeline, enabling us to scale to thousands of healthcare practices. We will have a combination of both directly user-facing products as well as interfaces for other engineering teams. You will be building features that range from building for usability to scaling for massive growth and a wide array of engineering requirements.

Youโ€™ll be working on defining, driving, and delivering the technical roadmap of the team and defining the underlying infrastructure for the next 5 years and beyond.

What youโ€™ll do

Write highly concurrent, asynchronous, multi-threaded python code to orchestrate AI Agents.

Produce quality software, shipped incrementally and continually at a high velocity

Optimize database queries and caching strategies to improve system efficiency and response times.

Engineer high performance, scalable, and reliable distributed systems to handle high-traffic and support a large user base.

Continuously enhance our technology stack to leverage advances in modern AI and backend infra and frameworks

Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, PMs, and fellow engineers to plan features to help bring a high quality product to market

Protect user data, identify and address security enhancements, and defend the data integrity of the platform.

Drive code reviews, technical discussions, improve code quality, and promote best practices.

Diagnose and resolve backend issues and bugs, ensuring the stability and smooth operation of the platform.

Communicate with customers and support them in being successful with the new product

Provide thoughtful feedback to your peers, and benefit from strong mentorship yourself

Acting as a technical leader and an owner of the product vertical.

Have a lot of clear ownership over various parts of the product.

Have complete ownership over the work you do โ€” as a core engineering team member, youโ€™ll have the opportunity to truly own large areas of product and engineering and have direct relationship with customers.

Work directly with the CEO, CTO, and other founding members and help build out our team.

Qualifications:

BS/MS in Computer Science, Physics, or related area or equivalent experience.

7-8+ years of handsโ€‘on experience in back-end engineering roles, primarily utilizing Python.

Fluency in asynchronous Python, SQL, and First Principles Thinking.

Expert in Database Schema Design.

Deeply understand the performance of code you write.

Comfortable with probabilistic and statistical thinking, game theoretic analysis, and quantitative intuition

Proficiency with back-end frameworks such as FastAPI, and Cloud services like AWS and distributed systems architecture and design

Track record of working with and managing medium-to-large databases with > 1 million rows

Advanced experience working with data platforms, (i.e. Databricks, Snowflake, etc.)

Knowledge in one or more of the following: NoSql technologies (Cassandra, ScyllaDB, ElasticSearch, Redis, DynamoDB), Sql Technologies (PostgresSQL), Queueing system experience (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, Azure Service Bus, etc)

Hands on experience with AWS services like S3, Lambdas, EC2 instances.

Practical experience in developing applications using microservices, container technologies, container management systems such as Kubernetes, Mesos, etc.

You have seen systems operating at a significant technical and organizational scale

Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
