Position Overview
Are you an earlycareer backend developer excited to learn how largescale cloud platforms are built and operated? At Autodesk, we're building the future of cloud platforms on our nextgeneration Consumption platform. As a Software Developer (New Grad), you'll contribute to real services used globally while learning from experienced developers in a supportive, collaborative environment.

You'll work on welldefined tasks, gain handson experience with distributed systems, and develop your skills in reliability, performance, and cost efficiency. If you're passionate about clean architecture, scalable platforms, and growing your impact, you'll thrive here.

Responsibilities
  • Implement features and fixes in backend services under mentorship, writing secure, reliable, and maintainable code with unit tests and clear documentation

  • Learn to build and optimize microservices and eventdriven components that support Autodesk's Consumption platform

  • Participate in code reviews (both giving and receiving feedback) to learn best practices and maintain high code quality

  • Follow Agile practices: estimate tasks, participate in standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives with guidance

  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine code issues; escalate and seek guidance on unfamiliar problems

  • Assist with production deployments, basic operational tasks, and monitoring as part of endtoend service ownership with oversight

  • Use Agentic AIassisted programming tools responsibly to increase productivity and code quality, guided by team standards

  • Contribute to team knowledge via documentation, tests, and incremental improvements to developer experience

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent training/experience)

  • Strong foundation in CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, networking, and basic distributed systems concepts

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or Go

  • Familiarity with version control (Git), testing basics, and RESTful or eventdriven service patterns

  • Clear communication, collaborative mindset, and willingness to seek guidance and learn quickly

Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship, research, or significant project experience in backend development or cloud services

  • Exposure to AWS or similar cloud platforms (e.g., Lambda, Fargate, SQS, DynamoDB, Aurora) is a plus

  • Coursework or experience with microservices, streaming/realtime processing, or containerization (Docker)

  • Experience with CI/CD, basic observability (metrics/logging), and security best practices for services

  • Interest in costaware design, performance, and reliability engineering
