Job description

Your role and responsibilities
Back-End Developer, IBM Corporation, Poughkeepsie, NY:
  • Handle critical deliverables and take direct ownership of multiple architecture verification programs required for the development of mainframe systems.
  • Work as a technical focal point in the respective domain (CPU architecture) and coordinate as an authority with various cross-functional teams for critical blockages and design bottlenecks in CPU architecture verification programs.
  • Expand the scope of various test programs by designing optimized algorithms and keep a tab on the resources used in the program by allowing the program to be re-used for developing next generation architecture programs.
  • Act as squad leader during the product bring-up cycle, provide hands-on skills, planning and technical direction.
  • Debug high severity field issues related to software/firmware/hardware.
  • Mentor junior engineers and programmers on the development of next generation mainframe systems, determine project requirements and develop work schedules for junior project staff.
  • Utilize: Assembler Programming, Software/Firmware Programming in C/C++, Python, Shell, Github, Virtual Studio Code.

Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Programming, Computer Science or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Hardware Developer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Assembler Programming, Software/Firmware Programming in C/C++, Python, Shell, Github, Virtual Studio Code. $168459 to $193459 per year. Full time.
