SQL Developer

Location: Irving, TX/ Hybrid

Duration: 6 months contract to hire

Description:

We are looking for an experienced SQL Developer with 3-5 years of professional experience to join our data management team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in both Oracle and MongoDB environments and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our critical database systems. This role requires a strong ability to write complex queries, optimize database performance, and work collaboratively with application developers and business stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Development:

Design, develop, and implement complex SQL and PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages in an Oracle environment.

Write and optimize advanced queries, views, and scripts to support application development and data analysis.

Develop and manage data access layers and backend database logic.

MongoDB Development:

Design, develop, and manage collections and documents within our MongoDB environment.

Write efficient and complex queries using the MongoDB Query Language (MQL) and aggregation pipelines.

Implement and manage indexing strategies to ensure optimal performance for MongoDB collections.

Data Modeling and Design:

Create and maintain logical and physical data models for both Oracle (relational) and MongoDB (NoSQL) databases.

Ensure database designs are scalable, reliable, and meet business requirements.

Participate in database design and architecture reviews.

Performance Tuning and Optimization:

Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies for both Oracle and MongoDB.

Analyze query execution plans and tune SQL and MQL queries for maximum efficiency.

Work with development teams to refactor and improve existing database code.

Data Management and Integration:

Develop and maintain ETL processes for data migration and integration between Oracle, MongoDB, and other systems.

Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across all database platforms.

Assist with database administration tasks, including backups, restores, and security management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

5-10 years of professional experience as a SQL Developer or in a similar database-focused role.

Expert proficiency in SQL and Oracle databases, including extensive experience with PL/SQL, stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning.

Hands-on experience with MongoDB, including a strong understanding of MQL, indexing, and the aggregation framework.

Proven experience in data modeling for both relational (Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Skills
