Job Title: Senior Back-End & Integration Engineer

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
As a Senior Back-End & Integration Engineer at DaVita, you will architect, build, and scale the middleware, APIs, and enterprise integrations that power our public-facing digital platforms. This position prioritizes back-end engineering and systems integration to ensure secure, high-performance data flow between marketing web properties and DaVita's core enterprise systems, including Salesforce, BigQuery, and Fuse. By focusing on server-side logic, database management, and cloud infrastructure, you will automate manual processes and solve complex technical challenges across our digital ecosystem.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between Marketing and Enterprise IT, translating business requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain back-end services, APIs, and automated solutions to streamline operations and reduce manual maintenance overhead.
  • Develop and support secure middleware and backend-for-frontend (BFF) services to seamlessly integrate with DaVita enterprise systems (e.g., Fuse, internal APIs).
  • Support and execute cloud database migrations and architecture modernization to address existing business and technical pain points.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust integrations between our digital platforms and Salesforce to support marketing automation, lead routing, and CRM initiatives.
  • Support database interactions and data management activities in Microsoft SQL Server and Google Cloud SQL environments.
  • Optimize application security, risk compliance, and back-end performance, maintaining strict adherence to OWASP best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship, contributing to technical architecture decisions, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and shared engineering standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and cross-functional partners utilizing Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience focusing on back-end engineering, middleware, and systems integration.
  • Deep technical proficiency in building Node.js middleware and API integration layers.
  • Strong experience within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery and Cloud SQL.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL database design, querying, management, and executing cloud database migrations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

The Salary Range for the role is $85,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year.
If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position.
New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $66,300.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $66,300.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $62,353.20/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $17.00/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $17.00/hour, Remainder of New York state: $16.00/hour
Washington Exempt: $80,168.40/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $19.13/hour, Burien: $21.71/hour, Everette: $20.77/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.82/hour, Renton: $21.57/hour, Seattle: $21.30/hour, Tukwila: $21.65/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $17.13/hour
