Job description

Ardsley High School is seeking an innovative and student-centered Mathematics Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:
Ardsley High School is seeking a knowledgeable and student-focused Mathematics Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, rigorous instruction across the high school math curriculum and foster strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching advanced courses, including AP Calculus AB and BC, who can prepare students for college-level expectations and success on AP exams.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:





  • Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction in mathematics courses, which may include Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus AB/BC
  • Develop students' conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving abilities
  • Design and implement assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and academically challenging classroom environment
  • Incorporate technology and real-world applications into instruction
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Participate in curriculum development, department meetings, and professional learning

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Experience teaching high school mathematics required
  • Experience teaching AP Calculus AB and/or BC strongly preferred
  • Strong content knowledge in advanced mathematics, including calculus
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered instruction


CERTIFICATION: NYS teaching certification in Mathematics

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated by building administration.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:ย This is a probationary 10-month position.
