OVERVIEW
Research Triangle High School (RTHS) provides a globally competitive STEM education by pioneering models of teaching and learning. Together we are Leading the Future of STEM Education.
RTHS seeks an Instructional Facilitator who is passionate about developing teachers and driving student success. This coach will have an unwavering belief that all students can achieve at high levels and a strong commitment to partnering with teachers to deliver exceptional outcomes. The position will focus on leading the development and oversight of teachers in math content areas, while also supporting the coordination of school-wide testing programs. This role may include teaching Math courses.
JOB GOAL
The goal of this role is: Support effective instruction and teacher development to ensure all students master North Carolina standards and thrive within our STEM model. This work is made possible through high-quality coaching, data analysis, collaboration, and logistical excellence.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional Coaching
  • Curricular Planning and Design: Support teachers in designing and implementing rigorous unit plans and lessons aligned to standards, with clear objectives and appropriate assessments.
  • Bi-weekly Observations and Feedback: Conduct coaching meetings every two weeks to help teachers internalize content, refine instructional techniques, and strengthen classroom management.
  • Data-Driven Culture: Foster a data-driven culture by helping teachers analyze and respond to student achievement data to inform instruction.
  • Lead Collaboration: Facilitate collaborative planning sessions, student work analysis, and professional learning communities to improve instructional practice.
  • School Leadership Participation: Contribute to school-based duties including arrival/dismissal, test proctoring, and other shared responsibilities.

Teaching Responsibilities:
  • Depending on staffing and scheduling needs, the instructional coach may be required to teach math classes and maintain all associated instructional and professional responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of successful teaching experience
  • Previous experience or training in instructional coaching or teacher development
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design and assessment practices; North Carolina experience preferred

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, School Leadership, or related field preferred
