Description
?Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated professionals who assist the Space Development Agency in developing and deploying the next generation of satellites and ground systems for missile warning (MW), missile tracking (MT) and missile defense (MD).
SAIC is seeking an experienced Mission Engineer to support the Space Development Agency (SDA) Tranche 3 Program Integration (T3PI) program. This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance. Desired physical location is in the Chantilly, VA area.
Our T3PI team has a need for a tracking Mission Engineer with experience analyzing space and ground system architectures through mission thread development and simulation. We are looking for innovative, creative, and highly motivated individuals to mature models and build scenarios (GRMs and DRMs) that effectively capture system of systems effects in complex operational environments.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Developing model scenarios (GRM/DRMs, threads and use cases), and simulations to support capability assessments (MVC) risk assessments, and other mission-level assessments
  • Reviewing government scenarios from PWSA enterprise and prior tranches to ensure that T3 scenarios are consistent
  • Developing, simulating, evaluating, documenting, and presenting space and ground-based system level performance analysis and trades for space concepts
  • Supporting analysis activities by integrating performance models with MBSE models and tools
    Quantifying performance impacts and sensitivity to changes in CONOPS, Scenario, or threats
    Developing and briefing data packages that provide analysis results to inform the government decision-makers
  • Collaborating with prime contractors, other team contractors, government civilians, FFRDC, SETA and members of the SDA

Qualifications
Required Experience:
  • Bachelors in Math, Science or Engineering and fourteen (14) years or more of demonstrated system engineering and integration experience with space, ground, operations and sustainment segments of DoD or NRO programs with a proven delivery record; or Masters in Math, Science or Engineering and twelve (12) years or more of demonstrated experience
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) or other missile defense or related space-based ISR mission experience
  • Experience working across space and ground segment organizations to coordinate and identify system requirements that ensure end-to-end mission performance requirements are met
  • Strong understanding of modeling, simulation, and mission analysis techniques and tools
  • Experienced at self-starting, seeking solutions, and working well in a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with SDA/DoD/NRO customers in an acquisition environment, with space and/or ground systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with MATLAB, STK, MODTRAN or other comparable modeling and simulation tools
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience using Cameo or other comparable tools
  • Space Operations Experience
