Position Summary
The Instructor is responsible for fostering student learning by providing high-quality classroom instruction. The Instructor must strive for continuous improvement of the curriculum, learning activities, and instructional resources to ensure student success. In addition to instructional duties, the Instructor will also be fully involved in the institutional planning process and developing the goals and objectives of the assigned academic department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrate and maintain a high level of competence and expertise in the teaching field or subject area.
  2. Develop, implement, and teach courses to meet individual student needs and ensure an effective learning experience.
  3. Evaluate and record student performance and achievement in a timely manner and provide prompt feedback to students and the administration to ensure learning outcomes are met.
  4. Participate as a contributing faculty member of the College, including participating in planning long-range and short-term goals for the department and College, as well as maintaining regular office hours and participating in faculty meetings.
  5. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, required, or directed by the College. The College reserves the right to assign additional tasks and to alter or reassign job duties as necessary to meet business and operational needs.
  6. In order to perform these essential functions, the Instructor must be present at work. Therefore, attendance is an essential job function.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution is required. Master's degree in field or master's degree in related field plus 18 graduate semester hours in computer science from a regionally accredited institution must be completed within 3 years.
  2. Must have demonstrated competence in each area of instruction, teaching experience at the college level preferred.
  3. Must be proficient in curriculum development, instruction, student evaluation, and advising, and have knowledge and experience with a variety of instructional methods and strategies.
  4. Must be skilled in the use of instructional technologies to enhance learning and must be able to adapt to and incorporate new and emerging technologies.
  5. Experience with distance learning technology and practices is preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must demonstrate experience and/or training in the area of new and emerging technologies in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Networking and Data communications, Information Assurance, Internet and Network Security/Cybersecurity. Current industry experience in the following areas preferred: networking fundamentals, network security, server administration, penetration testing, server virtualization, database administration and professional and/or industry certifications in MS MCSE; Cisco, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and/or Linux is desired.

Sick Leave

Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. The Boards of Control elect the Secretary-Treasurer who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the RSA and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the RSA. The TRS is a defined benefit plan qualified under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code.
