Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Information Technology (F1276S)
The Department of Computing and Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for AY 2026-2027. The department offers Certificate in Cyber Security, AAS and BS in Information Technology (IT), BS in Computer Science (CS), and BA in Mathematics degrees. The teaching load for this position will be 24 undergraduate hours per academic year of Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), Management Information Systems (MIS) and Cybersecurity courses. This position will begin in August 2026 and is a full-time, ten-month faculty position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates applying for this position must have a PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. Applicants who are doctoral degree candidates may be considered for this position, but if hired and the degree has not been earned by the start of the employment period the initial appointment will be made at the rank (and salary) of Instructor and will only be converted upon documented completion of the degree, in accord with the conditions specified in the offer letter.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in emerging and growing computing areas, such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science and Analytics, and Cloud Computing.
โ€ข Demonstrated experience teaching at the college level.
โ€ข Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching to 1st generation and non-traditional students at college level.
โ€ข Ability to work collegially in a team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Standard teaching load of 24 credit hours per year of undergraduate courses in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Management Information Systems. Candidates should be able to teach in a variety of formats, such as Traditional. Online, FLEX, Hybrid, ZOOM and ITV. Additional duties will include: active participation in service, scholarship, and required university, school, and department functions; mentoring undergraduate students in research; advising students; participating in program assessment; online course development; participating in recruiting and retention efforts; participating in departmental governance; and other duties as assigned and outlined in the Faculty Handbook.
SALARY RANGE:
$65,000.00 per academic year.
