Job Description: Lead Consulted, Network Engineer (Contract to hire)
Location: Richmond, VA - Onite
In this role, Unix/LINUX, CCIP, CCIE, CCNA, Routing, Meraki Wireless, and Palo Firewalls.
Responsibilities
Manage Telecommunications, Network, and Internet activities
Work to ensure that the Network and Telecom group exceeds expectations of our customers SLA.
Use network monitoring tools to proactively manage the network.
Ensure adequate system documentation
Manage the telecom equipment and service procurement process, including ensuring appropriate equipment inventories and software licenses
Manage suppliers in the Telecom supply chain
Collaborate effectively with peers in IT and other departments
Network Analysis, Tracking traffic types and bandwidth usage ensuring proper sizing of our network backbone connections
Manage SDWAN infrastructure
Work with third party vendors for project implementation and support
Create and maintain network diagrams.
5 years of IT experience with 3 years in Telecom or network operations
Experience supporting remote offices (e.g., branch offices)
Experience supporting Cisco Switching and Routing, Meraki Wireless, and Palo Firewalls.
Experience with NAC tools (Cisco ISE, PortNox)
SDWAN Administration, configuration and support.
VPN (GRE/IPSEC)
Cloud Networking with a focus on Azure.
Monitoring and NCM experience.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative, Motivated, and Forward thinking.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Strong network diagram experience with Visio or similar tool.
