Technical Specialist III in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
DUTIES: Write software certification and planning documents in accordance with DO-178. Participate in Stages of Involvement (SOI) audits and compliance reviews. Develop, review, and execute system level test procedures and test cases. Develop and review software requirements. Propose and plan new Model-Based Design (MBD) in compliance with DO-178/DO-331. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other team members. Collaborate with systems, safety, and QA teams to meet aerospace development processes and standards. Work on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development. Be responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within an established scope. Make technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities. Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge. Lead the development of innovative principles and ideas. Act independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements. Work under consultative direction, using independent judgment to accomplish objectives. Develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Conceive and plan investigations of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field required. Thirteen years of experience in job offered or related position required, including any experience with project estimation, schedule, execution, progress tracking, organizational tollgate reviews, customer reviews, SOI audits, Tool Qualification (DO-330), with problem reporting and issue tracking, and with PerformanceNEXT. Eight years of experience with DO-178 software development and verification required. Five years of experience with C or C++ required. Two years of experience with systems and integration testing required. Two years of experience with Model Based Design (DO-331) required. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field and thirteen years of experience, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field and eleven years of the above-requested experience or a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field and nine years of the above-requested experience. Must have legal authority to work in the U.S. EEOE.

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
