POSITION TITLE: Manager, Head of Procurement
LOCATION: Cambridge, MA (hybrid)
This position reports to our global HQ in Cambridge, MA and is hybrid with 2-3 days in office. Travel is expected domestically and internationally when needed.
Who We Are:
TriNetX connects healthcare organizations and researchers across the globe so they can see what's happening in real patient populations-not guesses, not simulations.
Our aim is simple and ambitious: Provide a clear path to trustworthy answers, whether your goal is to create promising new therapies, publish groundbreaking research, or improve health outcomes.
We keep identifiable data where it belongs-inside more than 11,000+ clinical sites across 20+ countries-preserving security, provenance, and granularity. Our trusted partnerships with providers ensure high-fidelity data, and a properly governed linkage back to individual patients.
At TriNetX, we enable life sciences, healthcare, and academic institutions to strengthen human health-with data you can trace, evidence you can defend, and answers you can trust.
Who We Are Looking For:
TriNetX is establishing a new Manager, Head of Procurement role to lead all procurement activities across the company. TriNetX was founded on the idea that incorporating real-world data results in better clinical trial design, improves the site selection and patient recruitment process and generates real-world evidence (RWE) to advance the collective understanding of human health.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will build, operate, and mature a strategic sourcing and procurement function that supports a fast-growing, data-driven technology business.
This position is ideal for a hands-on, highly organized procurement professional who can manage day-to-day sourcing and negotiations while also developing processes, governance, and long-term vendor strategy. You will be the company's primary procurement expert and partner closely with Finance, Legal, Security, Engineering, Data Partnerships, and Operations.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Strategy & Leadership
    • Build and own TriNetX's procurement function, establishing scalable processes, policies, and best practices.
    • Advise the CFO and executive leadership on spend strategy, vendor optimization, and risk considerations.
    • Develop procurement KPIs, reporting dashboards, and governance frameworks to support financial and operational goals.
  • Sourcing & Category Management
    • Lead end-to-end sourcing across major categories, including:
      • Cloud & SaaS platforms
      • Data licensing and data partnerships
      • IT, InfoSec, and privacy technologies
      • Professional services & consulting
      • Corporate and operational spend
    • Conduct RFI/RFP processes, manage vendor evaluations, and perform total cost of ownership analyses.
    • Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and service levels to ensure best-value outcomes.
  • Vendor Management & Risk Compliance
    • Manage the full vendor lifecycle, including intake, due diligence, onboarding, evaluations, renewals, and offboarding.
    • Collaborate with Security, Privacy, and Legal to ensure vendors meet compliance and risk standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA/BAA).
    • Maintain vendor documentation, risk questionnaires, and evidence for compliance and audit requirements.
  • Contracting & Governance
    • Partner with Legal to review, redline, and negotiate MSAs, SOWs, SLAs, DPAs, BAAs, renewals, order forms, and licensing agreements.
    • Maintain contract records, renewal pipelines, and calendar management to avoid unexpected or auto-renewal costs.
    • Support or lead the implementation of contracting or procurement workflow tools as the function scales.
  • Financial Impact & Reporting
    • Identify and deliver measurable cost savings and cost avoidance.
    • Provide regular reporting to Finance and the CFO on spend analytics, renewal visibility, supplier KPIs, and procurement performance.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and spend management by improving visibility and guiding business partners toward cost-effective solutions.

Who We're Looking For:
  • 5-8 years of procurement, sourcing, or vendor management experience, preferably in technology, SaaS, or data-driven environments.
  • Strong experience negotiating SaaS, cloud, data licensing, and/or IT contracts.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks like GDPR, HIPAA/BAA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
  • Proven ability to structure procurement processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in pricing models, benchmarking, and cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional partnership skills; able to influence across levels.
  • Comfortable operating independently in a growing environment; hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive.
