What is a B2B copywriter?

A B2B Copywriter is a professional writer who creates content specifically for businesses that sell products or services to other businesses, rather than to individual consumers. Their work includes writing website copy, emails, white papers, case studies, product descriptions, and other materials designed to inform, persuade, and engage business audiences. B2B Copywriters must understand complex business products or services and communicate their value clearly to decision-makers. They often work closely with marketing teams to ensure messaging aligns with a company’s brand and goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a B2B copywriter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a B2B Copywriter, you need excellent writing, research, and editing skills, typically supported by a background in marketing, communications, or English. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and analytics platforms is essential for producing and optimizing effective copy. Strong collaboration, adaptability, and the ability to translate complex information into clear messaging help set top B2B copywriters apart. These skills ensure the creation of persuasive, targeted content that drives business outcomes and supports organizational goals.

How do B2B copywriters typically collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create effective content?

B2B copywriters often work closely with both sales and marketing teams to ensure content aligns with business objectives and resonates with target audiences. Regular meetings or brainstorming sessions help copywriters understand key messaging, product benefits, and customer pain points. They may receive briefs, feedback, and data from these teams to refine messaging and adapt content for different stages of the buyer journey. Collaboration is essential for producing compelling materials such as case studies, white papers, and email campaigns that drive engagement and support sales initiatives.

Job description

B2B Sales Representative & Trainer
B2B Direct Sales | Supplemental Insurance | Local Territory

Built for People Who Lead by Lifting Others Up

At Allegiant Business Group, we know strong teams thrive when people support one another, act with integrity, and stay consistent in their efforts. We partner with small and mid-sized businesses to provide dependable supplemental insurance solutions that protect employees and their families.

As our organization grows, we're looking for experienced sales professionals who want to expand their impact by developing others while continuing to grow their own book of business. If mentoring, building relationships, and helping people succeed energize you, this is the role for you.

The Opportunity

This full-time B2B direct sales position blends outside sales with leadership and mentorship. As a Sales Representative & Trainer, you'll meet face-to-face with business owners and employees within your territory while coaching newer agents as they learn our systems and approach.
Representatives operate as independent contractors, giving flexibility over your schedule and territory, while still benefiting from structured training, support, and leadership resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow relationships with small and mid-sized business clients

  • Conduct in-person benefit presentations and enrollment-style meetings

  • Recommend supplemental insurance solutions based on client needs

  • Mentor and support newer agents through field coaching and guidance

  • Lead by example through consistent personal production

  • Maintain accurate client and activity records in Salesforce CRM

  • Prospect new opportunities through referrals, networking, and scheduled appointments

  • Collaborate with leadership to set weekly goals and support team development

  • Provide ongoing client service, follow-up, and re-servicing

Training & Leadership Development
We invest in both personal and team growth:

  • Structured onboarding and hands-on field training

  • Ongoing product, compliance, and leadership education

  • Health & Life licensing support

  • Continued mentorship and coaching from senior leadership

  • Clear pathways for advancement into leadership roles

Compensation & Structure

  • Commission-based income with performance bonuses

  • Weekly base draw available while building your business

  • Uncapped earning potential tied to consistency and service

  • Incentive trips, recognition programs, and advancement opportunities

  • Flexible schedule with autonomy over your territory

Ideal Candidate
You'll thrive if you:

  • Have prior experience in outside sales, leadership, or mentorship roles

  • Enjoy helping others grow while continuing to develop personally

  • Excel in face-to-face, relationship-focused environments

  • Are organized, self-motivated, and dependable

  • Value collaboration, integrity, and long-term growth

  • Communicate clearly and build trust easily

  • Have reliable transportation and can travel locally

  • Are willing to obtain a Health & Life license
