Primary Objective:  In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose of primary objective of this position.

  • Set up, operate, and tend to many machines organized into a frame that twist yarn together.

Major Function and Scope: Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function of responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate.

  • Creel single or double ply yarn packages and load yarn into twister
  • Reposition buggies of yarn at the twisters and stage tubes for winder operation
  • Thread ends of single yarns, operate the spindle, and repair breakouts during production runs
  • Doff twisted yarn packages and transfer them from the conveyor to a buggy/container
  • Monitor production output and machine equipment for safe and efficient operation
  • Clean and dechoke spindles to maintain machine efficiency and meet production requirements
  • Perform quality checks using black lights to check yarn
  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
  • Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management

Years of Experience and Knowledge:

Knowledge, Experience, Certifications: Describe the education, knowledge required, years of experience, specific skills and abilities required to do the job on a fully competent basis.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Successful completion of all required on the job training
  • Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
  • Previous Yarn or Manufacturing experience is preferred
