Job description

Job Description
Seeking Network Technician to install or replace network switches and ports in Transit and Met Council system infrastructure throughout the organization. Resources will be expected to support System Engineers in diagnosing and troubleshooting network connectivity issues as well as:
  • Support and communicate about workspace standard power systems and wireless connectivity issues with the network team
  • Document work performed using pictures, notes, and shared spreadsheets
  • Ensure equipment installation is in proper location of Council and Council connected infrastructure
  • Ensure basic installation steps are performed
  • Communicate set-up issues and concerns with System Engineers and the network team
  • Identify appropriate hardware equipment to be transported and delivered for the required job
  • Safely load and secure hardware equipment in Council vehicles
  • Document appropriate hardware equipment delivered to System Engineer
  • Discuss planned hardware transportation, installation, schedule, and connection with the Systems Engineer
  • Assist the Systems Engineer in layout of new infrastructure equipment
  • Communicate planned work completion or issues
  • Provide knowledge transfer to other Network Team members as required
