Sr. Azure Cloud Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to support a remaining on-prem-to-Azure migration and enhance our cloud engineering capacity. This role is for a senior, cloud-native resource who can manage Azure migration, infrastructure engineering, Tier 2/Tier 3 escalations, automation, Terraform/IaC, AVD, Entra, and future integrations. The position requires participation in an on-call rotation for off-hours support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support remaining on-prem-to-Azure lift-and-shift migration work.
  • Assist with Azure VM migration planning, validation, cutover, and post-migration cleanup.
  • Support Azure infrastructure design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for complex cloud, infrastructure, AVD, Entra, and connectivity issues.
  • Assist with Azure networking, private connectivity, DNS, routing, and access troubleshooting.
  • Support Terraform / Infrastructure as Code implementation and maintenance.
  • Support CI/CD pipeline integration for infrastructure deployment where needed.
  • Assist with backup, monitoring, logging, and operational readiness checks.
  • Help document migration patterns, runbooks, and operational handoffs.
  • Support future acquisition/integration readiness through scalable cloud patterns.
  • Mentor junior or newer cloud team members where appropriate.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong Azure infrastructure engineering experience.
  • Experience with Azure VM migration or hybrid-to-cloud migration projects.
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking, routing, DNS, NSGs, private endpoints, and connectivity.
  • Experience with Entra ID / Azure AD.
  • AVD troubleshooting or implementation experience.
  • Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience.
  • CI/CD pipeline experience.
  • Kubernetes exposure.
  • PowerShell or scripting experience.
  • Experience with monitoring, backup, and operational readiness in Azure.
  • Ability to own complex escalations and drive issues to resolution.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Azure Migrate experience.
  • Zscaler or zero-trust/private access experience.
  • Defender for Cloud exposure.
  • Experience supporting cloud governance and landing zone patterns.
  • Experience in healthcare, PBM, or regulated environment
