Senior Integration Engineer (Workato)

Locations: Dallas, TX/ Chicago, IL/ New York, NY
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Integration Engineer with 7+ years of enterprise integration experience and 5+ years of hands-on expertise in Workato to design, develop, and support scalable integration and automation solutions across cloud and on-premise applications. This role will be responsible for building enterprise-grade integrations, API connectivity, workflow automation, and data orchestration solutions that enable seamless business operations. The position is fully remote and requires availability during US business hours.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain integrations using Workato.
  • Build scalable workflows, recipes, and automation solutions across enterprise platforms.
  • Integrate SaaS, cloud, and on-premise applications using REST APIs, SOAP services, webhooks, and event-driven architectures.
  • Develop data mapping, transformation, and synchronization processes across multiple business systems.
  • Automate business workflows, approvals, notifications, and operational processes.
  • Implement secure integration solutions using OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, API Keys, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Establish logging, alerting, exception handling, and operational support mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and product teams to deliver integration solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical reviews, release planning, and production deployments.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to integration best practices, standards, and governance.

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise application integration, middleware, or systems integration.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing integrations using Workato.
  • Strong experience with REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Webhooks, JSON, XML, and data transformation.
  • Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Workday, NetSuite, ServiceNow, SAP, Oracle, or similar business applications.
  • Solid understanding of API security, authentication, and authorization protocols including OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, and SSO.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Experience with integration monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD practices, and release management processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Workato Certification(s).
  • Experience with additional iPaaS platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, Celigo, or Informatica.
  • Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud integration services.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise integration ecosystems.
  • Prior experience working with distributed teams and global stakeholders.

Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
The goal is to establish a single source of truth through seamless two-way synchronization between the real estate and construction management platform (Lucernex) and the execution tool (Smartsheet).
