How much do azure event hub jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 15, 2026, the average hourly pay for azure event hub in the United States is $70.48, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $61.06 and $79.57 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Is Azure event hub like Kafka?

Azure Event Hub is a fully managed data streaming platform similar to Apache Kafka, designed for high-throughput real-time data ingestion and processing. Azure Event Hub offers Kafka-compatible APIs, allowing applications to connect using Kafka clients, but it is a Microsoft-managed service optimized for integration with Azure services. While both support event streaming, Kafka is open-source and self-managed, whereas Azure Event Hub provides a cloud-native, scalable alternative with integrated security and management features.

What are Azure event hubs used for?

Azure Event Hubs is a data streaming platform used for ingesting and processing large volumes of real-time data from various sources such as applications, devices, and sensors. It enables scalable event ingestion, making it suitable for analytics, telemetry, and real-time data processing scenarios in cloud environments.

What pays more, AWS or Azure?

For roles related to Azure Event Hub, salary differences between AWS and Azure positions depend on experience, location, and specific job responsibilities. Generally, cloud engineer roles in both platforms offer comparable compensation, with certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect potentially influencing pay. Market demand and skill level are key factors in salary variation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Azure Event Hub Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Azure Event Hub Engineer, you need a solid understanding of cloud architecture, event-driven systems, and experience with Azure services, typically supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with tools like Azure Portal, Azure CLI, Event Hub SDKs, and certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are highly valuable. Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively are important soft skills in this role. These competencies ensure reliable event streaming solutions, efficient troubleshooting, and seamless integration with distributed systems.

What is the difference between Azure Event Hub vs Azure Data Factory Developer?

AspectAzure Event HubAzure Data Factory Developer
Primary RoleReal-time data streaming and ingestionData integration and workflow orchestration
Required SkillsEvent streaming, messaging, cloud servicesData pipelines, ETL processes, cloud data tools
Work EnvironmentCloud platforms, real-time data systemsData warehouses, cloud data platforms
Common UsageIoT, telemetry, live analyticsData migration, reporting, analytics workflows

Azure Event Hub focuses on real-time data ingestion and streaming, enabling applications to process live data feeds. In contrast, Azure Data Factory Developers design and implement data pipelines for batch processing and data integration. Both roles work within cloud environments but serve different purposes in data management and analytics workflows.

What is Azure Event Hub?

Azure Event Hub is a fully managed, real-time data ingestion service provided by Microsoft Azure. It is designed to handle millions of events per second, making it suitable for collecting and processing large streams of data from various sources such as applications, devices, or sensors. Event Hub enables seamless integration with analytics and storage services, allowing organizations to analyze and react to data in real-time. It supports scenarios like telemetry processing, live dashboarding, and event-driven architectures.

What are the typical responsibilities of an Azure Event Hub Engineer on a cloud infrastructure team?

As an Azure Event Hub Engineer, you'll primarily be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining real-time data ingestion and event streaming solutions using Azure Event Hubs. Your daily tasks may include configuring Event Hubs, setting up security and monitoring, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing performance for large-scale data flows. You'll collaborate closely with data engineers, developers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration with other Azure services and applications. This role often involves staying up to date with Azure updates and best practices to support business-critical event-driven architectures.

What is the AWS equivalent of Azure Event Hub?

The AWS equivalent of Azure Event Hub is Amazon Kinesis Data Streams. Both services enable real-time data ingestion and processing at scale, and familiarity with streaming data concepts and AWS certifications can be beneficial for roles involving these tools.
