Job description

As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering features to support cloud and application development. We are looking for candidates with 3-5 years of experience with cloud platform services and DevSecOps practices such as build and release management, CI/CD practices, deployment orchestration, and process automation.


Responsibilities include: 

  • Establishing development tools and infrastructure for automation
  • Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
  • Automating and improving development, testing, deployment, and release management processes
  • Coordinating and supporting application and infrastructure releases across development, test, and production environments
  • Supporting release planning, deployment execution, rollback procedures, post-release validation activities, and deployment readiness across multiple environments
  • Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
  • Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Identifying technical problems, performing root cause analysis, and developing software updates and fixes
  • Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and releases are deployed reliably and efficiently
  • Supporting enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code including activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, release orchestration, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CD
  • Documenting the as-is state of the environment, performing a gap analysis, and producing artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
  • Leveraging containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes to optimize and modernize software systems
  • Acting as an individual contributor and mentoring junior team members
  • Working with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools
  • Engineering and implementing solutions and providing recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided
  • Presenting regular status updates and providing cross-training to other DevSecOps team members regarding deployment, release, and automation processes

Required: 

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of total experience
  • 3+ years of experience with one or more cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • 3+ years of experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket
  • 3+ years of experience with one or more programming or scripting languages
  • 3+ years of hands-on DevSecOps experience within Agile software development environments
  • 3+ years of experience implementing containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
  • 3+ years of experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration
  • 3+ years of experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and release automation using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or TravisCI
  • 3+ years of experience integrating deployments with industry standard DevSecOps tooling and orchestration
  • Experience supporting application deployments, release coordination, and environment management in Agile or DevSecOps environments
  • Experience integrating test automation including performance, security, and functional testing into CI/CD pipelines

Preferred:

  • Certifications: 
    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer 
    • Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate 
    • SAFe DevOps Certification 
  • Experience implementing automated testing frameworks including Selenium
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
  • Experience documenting the as-is state of an environment, performing gap analyses, and producing artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
  • Experience scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby
  • Experience with automation tools including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
