The Royal Caribbean Group's AI & Analytics Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead Gen AI Engineer reporting to the Director, Platform Engineering.

The position is onsite and based in Miami, Florida.

Position Summary

We are seeking a visionary Lead Gen AI Engineer, to join our Gen AI Solutions team within the AI & Analytics department. This role will lead the development of full-stack Gen AI applications using a modern Azure-based technology stack. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, data scientists, and product managers to deliver intelligent solutions that enhance operational efficiency and guest experiences.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop Gen AI-powered applications using Azure AI Foundry, Azure Container Apps, Azure AI Search, and Azure Databricks.
  • Integrate multi-cloud Gen AI capabilities including AWS Bedrock and Google Vertex AI when necessary.
  • Build scalable full-stack solutions using Next.js, Streamlit, FastAPI, Radix UI, Tailwind CSS, and Zustand.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization using Azure AD & MSAL.
  • Design and optimize data pipelines using Databricks Serverless SQL, SQL Server, and Azure Cosmos DB.
  • Develop intelligent retrieval systems using Azure AI Search.
  • Manage APIs and microservices with Azure APIM and FastAPI.
  • Ensure security, observability and cost-efficiency using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Cost Management.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Develop and implement best practices for AI model deployment, scaling, and monitoring.
  • Design and execute integration strategies for incorporating large language models (LLMs) and CoPilot technologies with existing business platforms.
  • Lead DevOps practices using Azure DevOps for CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and proof-of-concepts to validate the integration of new tools and technologies.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in Gen AI or LLM-based application development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven expertise in full-stack development and Azure cloud services.
  • Deep understanding of Gen AI architectures including RAG.
  • Experience with enterprise identity management and secure coding practices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot Studio and multi-cloud Gen AI platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and their integration services.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
