Location: Andover, ME
Work Setup: On-site (5 days per week)
Contract Length: 2 years
Join a leading telecommunications organization supporting critical satellite communications infrastructure for government, domestic, and international customers. As a Teleport Engineering & Operations Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining, monitoring, and supporting satellite network operations while ensuring the highest levels of service reliability and performance.
Teleport Engineering & Operations Engineer Responsibilities
  • Monitor, test, maintain, and troubleshoot earth station telecommunications equipment, including RF, IF, and baseband systems.
  • Perform testing and diagnostic procedures using specialized measurement and troubleshooting equipment to restore and maintain digital services.
  • Monitor network performance, identify anomalies, and manage customer-reported issues through established escalation procedures.
  • Support the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of satellite and network equipment, including amplifiers, modems, routers, switches, multiplexers, and associated cabling.
  • Coordinate service testing and activation with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor vendor activities and provide remote monitoring support for additional teleport locations when required.
  • Execute emergency restoration procedures following commercial power failures.
  • Maintain service levels and ensure continuous operation of earth station and terrestrial systems.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners to support operational excellence.
  • Perform site operations independently during assigned shifts with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3โ€“5 years of experience in Satellite Network Communications.
  • 3โ€“5 years of experience with IP networking technologies.
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License.
  • Ability and willingness to work a 24x7x365 operational schedule, including rotating shifts, on-call responsibilities, and occasional last-minute coverage requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in telecommunications and network environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with RF technologies and satellite communications systems.
  • CCNA, CCNP, or other Cisco certifications.
  • Additional satellite communications or IP networking certifications.
  • Military technical school training or accredited technical education in RF/Satellite Communications.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical telecommunications infrastructure.
