Position Summary

The Kubernetes Engineer supports mission-critical objectives under the referenced work order by configuring, deploying, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters tailored for IL environments (IL2, IL4, IL5) ensuring support for ESRI ArcGIS services and integration with agency infrastructure. This role optimizes containerized transformation pipelines and implements Kubernetes-native monitoring solutions.

Job Description

  • The Kubernetes Engineer is responsible for configuring, deploying, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters for IL2/IL4/IL5 environments.
  • The position requires developing and managing Helm charts and Kubernetes operators for declarative deployment and automated scaling of ESRI services.
  • Engineers will configure persistent volume claims and provision container-native storage (AWS EBS, Azure disks).
  • The role includes integrating Kubernetes-native monitoring and logging solutions (Prometheus, Fluentd, OpenTelemetry).

Required Qualifications and Experience

The contractor shall provide personnel who meet one of the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, or a related field; or
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in Kubernetes administration.

Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • Deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.
  • Troubleshooting containerized applications.
  • Implementing service mesh architectures such as Istio or Linkerd.
  • Using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Working with cloud infrastructure services (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Required Skills and Competencies
