Job Title :IT Engineer – Data (Security)
 
Location: Hybrid, Vienna, VA 
 

Experience Level  - 10+ Years


Overview

This position resides within the Information Security Department/Information Strategy and Program/Infosec PMO Team.  The IT Engineer- Data will independently support the Infosec PMO Technology Projects in administering and implementing technology solutions to support Infosec Strategy and Program’s mission. The IT Engineer- Data’s primary responsibilities will be to develop analytic solutions (Power BI/Databricks) to track, but not limited to, department and team goals, project status, and ongoing operational metrics. The role’s secondary responsibilities will be to develop governance models and managing Power BI workspaces and Databricks workspaces for the team that promote efficiency of operation and security of data.

Required Qualifications

•   Power BI: 8 years

•   Databricks: 5 Years 

•   Python Scripting: 5 Years 

•   Azure DevOps: 3 Years

•   SharePoint: 3 Years

•   Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams

•   Experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or team environment to achieve goals 


Preferred Qualifications

•   Experience with Azure Databricks

•   Experience working in an Information Security Team

•   Experience with Agile project delivery methods, tools and concepts

•   Degree in information technology, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

•   Effective skill in communicating with all levels within an organization.

Responsibilities:                                                      

 •   Lead analytics projects independently  to discover insights to guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities for efficiency and automation

•   Lead requirement collection working sessions to capture both functional and non-functional requirements and communicate with technical and non-technical staff

•   Oversee progress to ensure project documentation and schedules are following previously agreed requirements and standards.

•   May be required to support team by writing backlog requirements and facilitating Agile ceremonies

•   Communicate changes, direction, approach, and priorities based on changing business requirements, circumstances, added information and/or budget considerations to team.

•   Build and maintain relationships with team members, management,  and key stakeholders 

•   Prepare/collaborate on presentations/reports using Power BI, MS Office and Azure DevOps

•   Develop code using various programming and scripting languages to automate/optimize data ingestion, pipeline orchestration and improve data management processes

•   Develop, maintain, and manage Power BI reports, Dataflows, Data pipelines,  Dashboards, Apps, and emerging Business Intelligence solutions

•   Publishing reports to the Power BI service, managing them through distribution of apps, establishing the needed authentications, and scheduling an automated refresh schedule

•   Oversees and administers Power BI and Databricks workspace environments in a secure and consistent manner

•   Collaborate independently with stakeholders to produce actionable reports and dashboards

•   Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis relating to efficiency and effectiveness metrics, Objective and Key Results, project status reporting, and other business operational related activities

•   Perform data querying, reporting, forecasting, analysis, , and  statistical methods and modeling

•   Construct custom API calls in Postman and Power BI to extract data from different systems 

•   Analyze complex business and operational concepts, propose efficient technical solutions, and    communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively     

•   Demo technical solution to groups of various sizes and organizational levels

•   Performs other related duties as assigned
