Position Title: Database Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA (Metro Atlanta)

Engagement Type: Contract

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Database Infrastructure Engineer to design, maintain, and optimize core database environments. In this role, you will act as a core technical resource for the data ecosystem, focusing heavily on automation, scheduling management, and infrastructure scaling. You will utilize scripting languages to automate routine maintenance, monitor system health, and orchestrate complex database jobs to ensure maximum uptime and peak performance.

Key Responsibilities
• Infrastructure Management: Design, configure, provision, and manage hardware and software configurations across Azure Cloud services and Windows Servers while ensuring compliance with data governance and data privacy regulations, as well as managing user permissions.
• Automated Job Management: Design, implement, and monitor automated database jobs, maintenance tasks, and ETL workflows.
• Scripting & Automation: Write and maintain robust scripts (such as SSIS and PowerShell) to automate routine DBA tasks, deployments, backups, and health checks.
• Performance Tuning: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, optimize queries, manage indexing strategies, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Maintain and test robust disaster recovery (DR) strategies and failover procedures, providing 24/7 support for mission-critical systems as needed.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support application development and data integration by configuring application environments, managing IIS administration, and implementing security and performance best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Enterprise Systems Management: 7+ years of experience managing enterprise systems (MS SQL Server, Windows Server, and Azure Cloud environments).
• Scripting & Automation: 7+ years of experience writing scripts with PowerShell and SSIS for database automation.
• Infrastructure Concepts: 7+ years of experience with storage systems, network architecture, and cloud infrastructure (specifically Azure).
• Power Platform: 7+ years of experience with PowerApps, Power BI Services, and Power Automate.
• DevOps & Integration: 7+ years of familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, and .NET applications.
• Troubleshooting: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot critical production incidents effectively under pressure.
• Certifications: Valid certifications in relevant database technologies (e.g., Azure Database Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or Microsoft SQL Server).
