How You’ll Contribute

Kaufman Rossin is seeking a Senior Azure Architect to join our growing Information Technology team. In this hands on role, you will lead KR’s cloud modernization strategy by evaluating our AWS and Azure environments, guiding the migration of workloads to Azure native solutions, establishing architecture standards, and advancing our data, analytics, AI, and virtual desktop capabilities. You will combine deep technical expertise with enterprise architecture principles to create secure, scalable, and cost effective solutions.

Architecture Strategy and Governance

  • Establish cloud architecture standards, guardrails, patterns, and decision frameworks for engineering teams
  • Translate business objectives into long term architecture blueprints using TOGAF or an equivalent framework
  • Conduct current state and future state assessments to identify technology gaps, redundancies, risks, and cost optimization opportunities
  • Develop Architecture Decision Records for major platform and technology decisions
  • Lead recurring architecture reviews across Platform Engineering initiatives

AWS Assessment and Azure Migration

  • Evaluate and document KR’s AWS workload landscape, including dependencies, risks, costs, and migration complexity
  • Develop a phased migration roadmap aligned with business priorities and technical requirements
  • Determine the appropriate migration approach for each workload, including re-hosting, re-platforming, refactoring, or retirement
  • Design Azure native solutions using technologies such as AKS, Azure Container Apps, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Azure Functions Ensure migrated workloads meet security, performance, reliability, and cost management standards

Data Platform and Analytics

  • Lead the architecture of KR’s Azure data platform using ADLS Gen2, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Data bricks, and Microsoft Fabric
  • Own the architecture of the Data Lake and Data Warehouse to support scalable reporting, analytics, and AI use cases
  • Develop a strategy to reduce reliance on Domo and transition reporting capabilities to Power BI and Azure native analytics tools
  • Design data pipelines, Fabric workspaces, and Synapse solutions with a focus on performance, governance, scalability, and cost efficiency

AI Architecture and Model Strategy

  • Define the architecture for KR’s AI applications, including retrieval augmented generation pipelines, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks
  • Lead model selection based on business needs, security requirements, performance, and costEvaluate commercial and open source models, including Azure Open AI, Claude, Llama, and Mistral
  • Design secure AI solutions that incorporate data isolation, role based access control, Managed Identity, audit logging, and responsible AI governance
  • Establish reusable AI architecture patterns and standards for internal and client facing applications

Azure Virtual Desktop

  • Architect the migration from Citrix to Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Design host pools, FSLogix profiles, image management processes, network topology, and application delivery models
  • Integrate Azure Virtual Desktop with Entra ID, Conditional Access, multifactor authentication, and Zero Trust security standards
  • Ensure the environment delivers a secure, reliable, and scalable user experience

Requirements

How You’ll Stand Out

  • 7+ years of hands on experience designing solutions across Azure and AWS
  • Proven experience leading end to end cloud migrations using multiple migration approaches
  • Deep expertise in Azure data platforms, including ADLS Gen2, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience designing AI solutions that incorporate retrieval augmented generation, large language model integration, model selection, and responsible AI governance
  • Strong Azure Virtual Desktop architecture experience, including FSLogix and image management
  • TOGAF certification or equivalent enterprise architecture credentials required
  • AZ 305, DP 203, AZ 140, or AI 102 certification preferred
