Job description

JOB Description Title: Tower Construction Crew Chief Reports To: Tower Project Manager Department: Tower Construction Summary of Position: Tower Crew Chief must be able to adhere to rigid safety standards while ensuring quality work in a fast-paced environment. Once training is completed, jobs will include various aspects of tower construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You may be climbing in excess of 300 ft.

in all weather conditions, with the exception of hazardous situations. COMPENSATION: $25-$33 based on experience Weekly per diem checks issued where room and board is applicable. Tower Techs travel Monday through Friday and are home most weekends.

Patriot Towers Crew Chief Responsibilities: Climb cell towers in excess of 300' and perform all related work at height. Ensures safety standards and requirements are adhered to by crew members. Lead by example; setting both the character and tone for crews to follow.

Give continuous direction to team and ensure that directions are followed. Ensuring the quality of work is to specifications. Mentor Entry Level crew members to advance their skills and abilities.

Ensure crew is properly equipped to perform work. Supervise crew for the installation and testing of antennas including connector installation, weather proofing, associated grounding, positioning antennas to correct tilt and azimuth. Perform sweep, PIM, fiber and grounding tests.

Perform inspections of work in progress and at completion of installation. Ensure crews are performing in scope work, and document any changes. Ensure all required documentation (eg: close-outs, timesheets) is completed and submitted on time.

Other duties as assigned by manager. Competencies & Qualifications: Strong safety values and safety leadership skills Broad knowledge of tower construction methods and safe work practices Broad knowledge of safe rigging practices required with tower work Ability to perform and train others in all construction department skills and tasks Read and understand engineering drawings, and specifications. Ability to prepare all types of required internal paperwork.

(Schedules, daily reports, time-sheets etc.) Demonstrated ability to climb safely , maneuver and position oneself in the most complicated of situations Computer literate Good communications skills Job Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) One year experience as a top hand, or Equivalent combination of education and experience. 2 years tower construction experience OSHA 30 hour certification Previous Climbing & Rescue certification Anritsu PIM Certification and/or demonstrated equivalent skill and ability Anritsu SWEEP Certification and/or demonstrated equivalent skill and ability Anritsu OTDR Certification and/or demonstrated equivalent skill and ability Additional Information We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package including Health, HSA, Dental, disability insurance, life insurance, as well as 401k plan with company match, and paid vacation.
