POSITION OBJECTIVES: Provide maintenance, troubleshooting and on-call support for all NRWC infrastructure systems and related applications. This position will also participate in NRWC architecture and design; installation, upgrades, and patching; automation, monitoring system performance at all tiers of the architecture; providing and implementing tuning recommendations; working with internal and external Team Members in support of the environment.

JOB SUMMARY: Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software / hardware problems. Perform system backups and recovery. Maintain the virtual environment, including VMWare, cloud, physical servers, and Storage Area Networks. Monitor existing infrastructures and server usage, ensuring proper working order. Analyze the server infrastructure and make recommendations to IT management regarding needs and requirements. Identify possibilities for automation and efficiencies.

QUALIFICATIONS


Required skills and knowledge:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in systems administration with responsibility in production level environments and change management.
  • Five years' experience with VMWare product suite and Virtualization
  • Five years' administrating SANs (Storage Area Network)
  • Expert understanding of backup technology in a virtual environment
  • Expert knowledge of diagnosing system problems for all systems
  • Ability to mentor, and coordinate activities of junior level system administrators
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and willing to work a flexible schedule
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience building and maintaining architecture documentation
  • Administrative abilities, including record keeping and communication
  • Good guest service and teamwork skills
  • Pass NRWC pre-employment testing
  • Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain a Class III Gaming License

Preferred skills and knowledge:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
  • CompTIA Certification such as Project+, Security+, Network+
  • VMWare Certified Professional
  • MCSA/MCSE or M365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • Microsoft Azure Certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-305 and AZ-400.
  • ITIL v4 Foundation Certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull
  • Ability to stand or move around continuously for 8 or more hours
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Maintain the entirety of the computing environment including storage, physical servers, virtual servers, operating systems, and software solutions.
  • Perform system backups of all systems and critical data
  • Designs and implements procedures and solutions for optimization of systems and processes within the department
  • Research new technologies to facilitate and optimize the infrastructure
  • Submit written reports to IT management regarding performance and other reporting as assigned
  • Responsible for guest service training and facilitating the Guest Service Policy
  • Perform other duties as assigned
