Job description

Orchard Valley Golf Course, located in Aurora, IL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Bartender! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fastpaced hospitality-focused property organization. As part ofTroon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
 
Compensation: $11.00 - $12.00 plus tips
 

Position Overview:
The Bartender is integral to the guest experience and provides beverage services (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to the guests of the property. The Bartender will service beverages at the facility and provide a craft cocktail forward, high-quality service-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Bartender:

  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintains a supply of all bar products/supplies, including all glassware, expendable paper and other supplies
  • Maintains the sanitation and cleanliness of the bar area(s), glassware, and equipment.
  • Assures that all laws applicable to beverage operations are consistently followed.
  • Collect payment for drinks served.
  • Greet and provide immediate attention to guests.
  • Learn the names of regulars and personally recognize them.
  • Monitor guest experience and take appropriate action to assure the best customer service.
  • Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies and inventory are available.
  • Prepares garnishes, mixes and pre-mixed drinks.
  • Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned.
  • Adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies including confirming legal drinking age and discontinuing service to intoxicated guests.
  • Implement and support all course policies and programs as communicated by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of bartending experience.
  • Must be of legal age to serve liquor according to state law.
  • Working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor, and common drink recipes.
  • Must have strong customer/guest orientation.
  • Organized, able to work well in fast paced environment.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be dependable.
Minimum Qualifications for the Bartender:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of bartending experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older to meet state age requirements to serve alcohol.
Other Qualifications:
  • Possesses knowledge of cocktail recipes and wine varieties.
  • Current Food Handler's Certificate and BASSET Certificate required.
