Class 1 Owner Operator – Regional Ontario 

Department: Operations

Division: Linehaul

Job Summary

Armour Transportation Systems is currently seeking a professional and safety-focused Class 1 Owner Operator based out of Mississauga, ON.

This position is ideal for experienced Owner Operators who enjoy consistent regional highway work throughout Ontario. Owner Operators will operate their own tractor, transporting freight between Armour terminals, customer locations and designated destinations across Southern, Northern and Eastern Ontario.

The position offers the opportunity to operate your own business while working in partnership with Armour’s experienced dispatch and operations teams.

What You'll Do

  • Operate your own tractor in a safe, professional and efficient manner.
  • Complete scheduled regional runs throughout Southern, Northern and Eastern Ontario.
  • Transport freight between Armour terminals, customer locations and designated destinations.
  • Ensure on-time pickup and delivery of freight.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and ensure your equipment is maintained in safe operating condition.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs and all required transportation documentation.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety standards and applicable transportation regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, terminal personnel and customers.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with Armour while representing the company to customers and the public.
  • Manage routes, schedules and day-to-day operations in a safe and efficient manner.

What You’ll Need

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license.
  • Minimum 2 years previous tractor-trailer experience.
  • Clean driver's abstract and satisfactory criminal record check.
  • Your own tractor meeting applicable safety and equipment requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario regional routes.
  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance and customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Reliable, professional and dependable work ethic.
  • Experience with freight handling and scanning equipment is an asset.
