What is the difference between Az Attorney vs Paralegal?

Work EnvironmentLaw firms, courts, corporate legal departmentsLaw firms, legal departments, corporate settings
Employer & Industry UsageLegal practice, judiciary, corporate lawSupporting legal work, document preparation

Az Attorneys are licensed legal professionals with law degrees and bar admission, authorized to provide legal advice and represent clients. Paralegals assist attorneys by preparing documents and conducting research but are not licensed to practice law. While both work in legal environments, Az Attorneys have broader responsibilities and legal authority compared to Paralegals.

What does an AZ Attorney do?

An AZ Attorney, or Arizona Attorney, is a licensed legal professional who provides legal advice and representation to clients in the state of Arizona. They handle a wide range of legal matters, including criminal defense, civil litigation, family law, real estate, and business law. AZ Attorneys help clients navigate the complexities of Arizona's legal system, prepare legal documents, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in court. To practice law in Arizona, attorneys must be admitted to the State Bar of Arizona and comply with all relevant ethical and professional standards.

What are some common challenges faced by Az Attorneys in managing their caseloads?

Az Attorneys often handle a high volume of cases, which can make time management and organization particularly challenging. Balancing court appearances, client meetings, legal research, and document preparation requires strong prioritization skills. Additionally, staying updated on changes in Arizona law and managing client expectations are key aspects of the role. Many attorneys find that leveraging legal technology and collaborating closely with paralegals and support staff can help streamline their workflow and reduce stress.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an AZ Attorney, and why are they important?

To thrive as an AZ Attorney, you need a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, successful passage of the Arizona Bar Exam, and a comprehensive understanding of state and federal law. Familiarity with legal research databases (such as Westlaw or LexisNexis), case management software, and court e-filing systems is typical for this role. Outstanding analytical reasoning, persuasive communication, and ethical judgment are essential soft skills for excelling in legal practice. These competencies ensure effective client representation, compliance with legal standards, and successful navigation of complex legal proceedings.

Job description

Alongside Corgi, we operate an MSO that supports adjacent legal practices. Bulldog Trial Lawyers is one of those practices as a plaintiff-side employment firm that is looking for its first litigators and partners. The firm is backed with capital and an operations team of the MSO.

We need our first litigator.

The candidate will be crucial to growing the practice. We expect you to take cases now and mentor associates as we add them. We do not expect you to handle marketing, tech, or payroll. We handle everything non-legal.

The first attorneys we hire get favorable draw, equity and bonus packages. Experience gained in building out the firm in the first few months will be priceless and put you head and shoulders above the 10th or 100th litigator we hire. Comp is structured around a guaranteed draw plus contingency participation โ€” uncapped.

Geography is flexible. We open the office where you are. AZ, NV, NY, NJ, MA, WA, TN, GA, FL, CO โ€” all on the table.

Who we want.

  • Plaintiff employment litigator with experience in discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, harassment, wage & hour
  • The ability to take a case from intake through trial or settlement without hand-holding
  • 3+ years preferred; will consider 2 years for the right candidate
  • Active bar in any US jurisdiction
  • If you've built your own firm before - you will have unmatched support and resources this time.ย

What we offer.

  • Guaranteed draw โ€” $200k with contingency-fee participation targeting $250,000+ all-in compensation
  • Equity
  • Full back-office: intake, marketing, case management platform, paralegal support, IT, IOLTA, billing. Support in everything you could need to be successful and grow the practice with us.

If you work in employment law and want to be part of the most ambitious firm in the nation, apply.
