We are currently hiring a Solution Specialist II, Infrastructure based in our Head Office.

As a Solution Specialist II, Infrastructure at BCAA, you'll take a lead role in designing, implementing, and supporting business and infrastructure systems in a multi cloud environment. Leveraging your expertise in Windows and Linux system administration, AWS, and Azure platforms, you'll provide technical consulting, design architecture, and operational direction to drive infrastructure innovation and operational excellence.

In this position, you will contribute to automation initiatives, security and identity management, and multi-tier architecture development. You'll also play a critical role in troubleshooting complex technical issues, designing disaster recovery solutions, and researching new technologies to ensure BCAA's infrastructure aligns with best practices and operational needs.

What you'll do:

  • Design, build, and support redundant systems, disaster recovery policies, and data archiving solutions to protect data assets.

  • Manage and automate workloads in cloud environments, utilizing AWS cloud technologies and scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python.

  • Implement and maintain security, identity, and access management solutions, including AWS IAM and Azure SSO.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical incidents across all environments, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.

  • Oversee and support multi-tier architectures, including load balancers, caching, web servers, application servers, databases, and networking.

  • Plan, deploy, and maintain Azure/AWS systems to meet operational and project requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advocate for design strategies that leverage emerging technologies, frameworks, and processes.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) implementations.

  • Conduct research and provide recommendations on new technologies and standards to support procurement and development efforts.

  • Develop and maintain high-quality documentation to ensure clear communication of technical solutions and processes.

What you bring:

  • Associate's, Bachelor's, or Post-Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.

  • 7+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years of system administration in Windows/Linux environments.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in AWS systems administration or engineering.

  • Expertise in Windows System Administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.

  • Proficiency with infrastructure technologies, such as VMware, Cisco UCS, NetApp, and networking/security best practices.

  • Technical experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM) and Azure/O365 platform services (e.g., Conditional Access, Identity Services).

  • Experience implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.

  • Strong scripting and automation skills with tools like PowerShell and Python.

  • Knowledge of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operating Level Agreements (OLAs).

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are preferred.

The salary range for this position is $100,306.20 to $125,382.84 and is determined viajob-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.

Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (3 on-site / 2 remote days). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.
