About the role
We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain cloud-based solutions leveraging AWS services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in data integration, serverless computing, and analytics, ensuring scalable and secure cloud architectures.
In this role, you will:
  • Design and implement ETL pipelines using AWS Glue for data transformation and integration.
  • Develop and manage serverless applications using AWS Lambda.
  • Optimize and execute SQL queries on large datasets using Amazon Athena.
  • Configure and maintain Amazon Redshift for data warehousing and analytics.
  • Perform database migrations and replication using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
  • Build and deploy analytics solutions using Q Developer for business insights.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and cost optimization across AWS environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-based solutions aligned with business needs.

What you need to have to be considered
  • Proven experience with AWS services: Glue, Lambda, Athena, Redshift, DMS.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with Q Developer for analytics and dashboard development.
  • Understanding of cloud architecture best practices and security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Data Analytics.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $95,000 - $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
