Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for an experienced water-industry professional to join our Autodesk Water Infrastructure (AWI) team in EMEA as a Senior Technical Specialist.

This is a customer-facing technical sales role for someone who understands the water industry, can connect customer challenges with technology and workflows, and demonstrate the measurable business value AWI solutions can deliver.

You'll work alongside our Water Sales Specialists throughout the customer journey, acting as the technical subject matter expert assisting new sales growth of our operational analytics, asset management and modelling technologies across the EMEA region. You'll engage directly with customers to understand their business and technical challenges, lead discovery and solution development, and demonstrate how AWI technologies can help them improve the way they plan, design, operate and manage water infrastructure.

Combining deep industry expertise with strong communication and technical skills, you'll lead workshops, solution demonstrations, technical validation and pilot projects, helping customers build confidence in both the technical and business value of AWI solutions. We offer hybrid contracts with no minimum office days.

Why Autodesk Water Infrastructure?

Autodesk Water Infrastructure is helping water organisations tackle critical challenges through innovative software and technology. Our portfolio brings together hydraulic modelling, operational analytics, asset management and emerging digital technologies to help customers make better decisions across the lifecycle of their water and wastewater infrastructure.

In this role, you'll work with leading water organisations across the UK and EMEA, helping customers address complex challenges and adopt new approaches to managing their infrastructure.

It's an opportunity to combine deep water-industry expertise with the reach of a global software leader - applying your technical knowledge to high-value customer challenges, influencing the adoption of new technologies and helping grow Autodesk's presence in the water sector.

Responsibilities - What You'll Do

  • Partner with sales - Work closely with Water Sales Specialists, Autodesk sales teams and Solution Partners to develop opportunities, shape customer success strategies, progress strategic engagements and achieve technical closure.
  • Build trusted relationships - Establish credibility with practitioners, technical leaders and senior stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor on water technology.
  • Lead technical discovery - Facilitate customer workshops to understand business challenges, workflows, technical requirements, strategic priorities and desired outcomes.
  • Shape customer solutions - Connect customer needs with AWI technologies and develop compelling solution approaches that address technical, operational and business requirements.
  • Demonstrate customer value - Deliver high-impact technical presentations, demonstrations and solution storytelling that show how Autodesk technologies can improve customer outcomes.
  • Lead technical validation - Design and deliver pilot projects, proofs of concept and other technical validation activities that give customers confidence in proposed solutions.
  • Bring industry expertise - Maintain a strong understanding of water-sector business processes, workflows, challenges and technology trends, using this insight to help customers identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Influence our solutions - Bring customer feedback, market insight and identified business opportunities into Autodesk's product teams, helping inform Water product strategy and future development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Professional experience within the water and wastewater sector, with knowledge of water-industry processes, challenges and technical workflows
  • Practical experience and strong technical background in the application of asset management, operational analytics or hydraulic modelling and/or digital twin solutions within water and wastewater environments.
  • Experience with hydraulic modelling tools and workflows.
  • The curiosity to understand complex customer challenges and connect them with appropriate technical solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with practitioners, technical specialists and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience leading workshops, technical presentations, demonstrations or solution-development activities.
  • An engineering degree, equivalent professional qualification, or relevant industry experience.
  • Business fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Autodesk Water solutions such as Info360 Asset, Info360 Insight, InfoWorks ICM, InfoWorks WS Pro and InfoDrainage, or comparable industry solutions, is highly valued.
  • Experience collaborating with sales or commercial teams. Previous experience in a dedicated technical sales, solutions engineering or pre-sales role is valuable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of digital transformation, SaaS, cloud technology, digital twins or data-driven decision making within the water sector.
  • Experience working with water utilities, engineering consultancies or technology providers across EMEA.
  • Experience developing business cases or communicating the value and outcomes associated with technology investments.
  • Additional European language skills; Spanish would be particularly valuable.
