Job description

American Welding and Gas, Inc. ("AWG") has an immediate opportunity for a Bulk Delivery Driver in Winchester, KY. This position requires a Class A CDL with HazMat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements.

Shift: 2nd: 4pm to Midnight Monday through Friday.

AWG is an employee-owned company that packages and distributes industrial, medical, specialty and beverage gases. Headquartered in Raleigh, NC, AWG operates 82 branch locations and 20 fill plants in 20 states Montana to Florida. As one of the largest independent gas and welding supply distributors, AWG has the expertise and the resources to service large, bulk cryogenic gas customers as well as small business.

Bulk Delivery Driver Duties:
  • Responsible for loading, unloading, and delivering CO2 and cryogenic liquids in transport tankers and/or cryogenic vessels.
  • Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Ensure compliance with CGMP, Hazmat, OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure appropriate preparation, completion, and accuracy of paperwork.
  • Ensure vehicles are appropriately placarded and/or labeled.
  • Perform pre-inspection of vehicle and reports any problems to manager.
  • Maintain electronic trip-logs.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle.
  • Overnight trips may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Education Requirements:
  • CDL Class A license with HazMat, Tanker, and Air Brakes.
  • Successful completion of DOT pre-employment drug-screen and physical, and company administered road test.
  • Delivery experience a plus.
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Clean driving record 3+ years.
  • Ability to lift 50-75 pounds.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable using computers.
