Beyond project execution, this role serves as a leader within the Construction Management team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other project personnel. The Project Manager is expected to build strong client relationships, proactively manage project risks, and champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and ownership for project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, budget management, and project controls.
  • Direct all phases of project delivery, from project handoff through completion and closeout.
  • Ensure adherence to contract requirements, project schedules, quality standards, and company objectives.
  • Coordinate activities between internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, architects, engineers, and clients.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to address schedule, budget, or performance concerns.
  • Conduct routine site visits and in-person project reviews to verify progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop Project Management team members through regular feedback, support, and accountability.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Support workforce development by helping team members expand their technical, leadership, and project management capabilities.
  • Actively contribute to leadership initiatives within the Construction Management department.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, cost reporting, and profitability.
  • Review and maintain accurate cost-to-complete projections and financial reporting.
  • Lead change order management, contract administration, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Manage project billing, payment applications, retainage releases, back charges, and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks that may impact project performance or profitability.
Client & Stakeholder Relations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, owners, designers, and trade partners.
  • Communicate project status, schedule impacts, challenges, and solutions in a proactive and professional manner.
  • Facilitate a seamless transition from the sales team to the project delivery team, ensuring client expectations and project requirements are clearly understood and communicated.
Safety & Quality
  • Champion a zero-incident safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety programs.
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds Dant Clayton quality standards.
  • Verify project documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proactively identify potential disputes, claims, or project conflicts and implement solutions before escalation occurs.
Business Development Support

  • Contribute technical expertise during pursuit efforts and proposal development.
  • Support the company's growth objectives through customer relationship management and market engagement.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a construction related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction project management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience within the construction industry.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project controls, cost management, scheduling, and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to travel nationally up to 70%, including occasional short-notice assignments.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based work.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and non-traditional hours as project demands require.
Why Join TUTTLE, a Dant Clayton Division?
