Job description

EMM Technician (LDAR)
Also Known As: LDAR Technician / Monitoring Emissions Technician (Environmental Field Technician)
PROtect LLC
PROtect LLC is looking forexperienced LDAR Technicians who take pride in their work and want to be part of a team that keeps industrial facilities safe, compliant, and running efficiently.
In this role, you'll be out in the field performing Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) monitoring at refineries and industrial facilities. Using handheld analyzers and EPA Method 21 protocols, you'll identify emissions leaks, tag components, and help facilities stay compliant with environmental regulations.

What You'll Do
  • Monitor valves, pumps, connectors, and process components usingEPA Method 21 protocols
  • Run assigned monitoring routes and ensure all components are scanned and documented on schedule
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot handheld analyzers
  • Tag leaks and perform re-monitoring after repairs
  • Communicate with plant operations and maintenance teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve compliance and site processes
  • Follow all safety policies and properly use PPE including respirators
  • Support teammates and take on additional responsibilities as needed

Work Environment
This role is based in an industrial facility environment and includes:
  • Outdoor work inall weather conditions
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, and structures
  • Working at heights of up to 300 feet
  • Industrial noise levels that may exceed 85 dB (hearing protection required)

Work Schedule
  • 4/10 Schedule - four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Schedule may vary depending on job site location

Basic Qualifications
  • Must be18 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • 6+ months of LDAR experience or similar industrial/environmental monitoring experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Comfortable using Excel, handheld devices, and data entry systems
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb stairs/scaffolding, and work in hot/cold environments
  • Reliable transportation and strong safety mindset
  • Ability to communicate effectively with plant staff and team members

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of LDAR experience
  • Experience with TVA 2020 (MIC-6 & manual calibrations)
  • Familiarity with:
    • BWON
    • AVO inspections
    • QQQ reporting
    • OGI / IR camera technology
  • Experience working in refineries or chemical plants
  • Ability to read or understand P&IDs or emissions control systems
