Location: Hagerstown, MD | Payrate: $42/hour

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace and defense company to hire an experienced Avionics Technician III. If you're passionate about aircraft systems, precision workmanship, and mission-critical technology, this is your opportunity to support innovative aircraft modification and maintenance programs that make a real impact.

In this hands-on role, you'll install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems while ensuring every aircraft meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

What You'll Do

  • Perform avionics maintenance in accordance with FCC, FAA, and company regulations.

  • Install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify aircraft avionics systems and components.

  • Assemble and route wiring harnesses, terminate connectors, and perform ring-out and functional testing.

  • Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and engineering documentation.

  • Perform wiring installation, repairs, soldering, crimping, and connector termination.

  • Maintain test equipment, tools, and technical manuals.

  • Support aircraft modification projects while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and5+ years of relevant avionics experience(or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • Experience performing avionics maintenance, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.

  • Hands-on experience with harness assembly, wire routing, connector termination, and functional testing.

  • Experience terminating COAX, CIR-MIL, RJ-45 Network, and D-SUB connectors.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and maintenance manuals.

  • Advanced skills in avionics installation, wiring, soldering, crimping, and wiring repair.

  • **Must provide your own tools in good working condition.

  • Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment and perform physical job requirements, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with FCC regulations and FCC GROL certification.

  • Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrometers, or pitot static test equipment.

  • Experience with TRIAX, QUADRAX, fiber-optic assemblies, or El Ochito RF connectors.

  • Aerospace & Defense, U.S. Department of Defense, or military aviation experience.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.
