Covenant Aviation Security (CAS) is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead airport security operations at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). The Site Manager is responsible for the overall management, administration, and operational performance of the security program, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.

This position provides leadership to supervisory personnel and security staff while maintaining strong relationships with airport stakeholders, law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, airline partners, and other key constituents. The Site Manager is accountable for workforce management, operational readiness, customer service, compliance, employee development, and contract performance.

Essential Functions
  • Provide overall leadership and management of airport security operations.
  • Direct and oversee supervisors and security personnel to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, airport regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain staffing plans, workforce schedules, and operational coverage to meet contractual and operational requirements.
  • Evaluate operational performance and implement process improvements to enhance service quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, employee development, and succession planning activities.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Monitor operational metrics and workforce utilization to ensure optimal resource allocation and contract compliance.
  • Assist in the development and administration of budgets and operational resources.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable airport, TSA, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for airport authorities, airline partners, regulatory agencies, law enforcement organizations, and community stakeholders.
  • Lead incident response efforts and ensure timely reporting, documentation, and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, audits, and other operational documentation as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Security Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a related field.
  • Within the past five (5) years, must have experience managing a security or screening operation, preferably at a 49 CFR Part 1542 regulated airport or other government facility where security guards were employed.
  • AAAE Airport Certified Employee (ACE) Security Certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 1 (one) year of hire.
  • Experience working within an airport environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required airport credentials and access privileges.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and respond to operational emergencies as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing security operations at a commercial airport.
  • Experience supervising large workforces in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Experience working with airport authorities, TSA, airlines, law enforcement agencies, and regulatory organizations.

Physical Demands
  • May require standing, sitting, walking for various, possibly extended periods of time.
  • May be required to climb inside and bend under vehicles for vehicle inspections (example, construction dump trucks, etc.).
  • Physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for their assigned post/duties.
  • Capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion, such as standing or walking/ patrolling for entire shift(s), climbing stairs, running and self-defense.

Work Enviornment

Depending upon contract requirements and post locations and assignments, duties may be performed inside or outside with variations of climate control and exposure to elements. Some work requires outside exposure, conducting mobile vehicle patrols, and security at exterior gates, loading docks, and other access points to the Airport Area of Operations (AOA). Temperature fluctuations seasonally vary.
