Job Description:

Airbus Americas is looking for an Facilities Project Manager to join our Real Estate and Facilities in Mobile, Alabama.

In this role you will be responsible for providing full time project management support for all existing buildings andinfrastructure systems regionally across Airbus Americas. Manage facilities staff, vendors and contractors.Provide administration programming design, construction and technical support to ensure all constructionprojects assigned are executed in accordance with the established standards and procedures.
Contributes to all property decisions with the Sr. Facilities Manager to develop objectives and outcomesfor all facilities projects.

Nearby on 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your challenges:

Project Management: 50%

  • Provide full time project management support region-wide,identifying requirements and communicating milestones and detaileddeliverables.

  • Attends organizational meetings for input on construction,renovation, and other types of projects requested.

  • Serves as a representative of Facilities Management in theexecution and administration of engineering, design and constructionprojects.

  • Inspect, identify, and resolve design, detail, and logistics problemswith Project Lead, architects, suppliers and subcontractors to ensurethat workmanship conforms to the proper specifications andschedules.

  • Reviews change requests to construction design and preparerecommendations for review/approval by Facilities Management.

  • Recommend and manage initiatives to improve service deliveryconsidering both cost and quality.

  • Attend planning meetings and project status meetings.

  • Conduct milestone jobsite inspections to ensure the jobspecifications are being met and proper building principles are beingused across the site.

Compliance and Budget: 25%

  • Develop and maintain the construction budget, project status reportsand monitoring progression from start to finish.

  • Responsible for ensuring - within areas of assigned responsibility - isoperational on a daily basis, including validation that systems arecompliant and inspected as needed by relevant external authoritieshaving jurisdiction related to building occupancy and operation. Thisincludes, but is not limited to OSHA, FDA, ADA, and city and statefire marshal.

  • Support and manage portfolio wide initiatives and required local,state, and federal laws and regulations that pertain to the facilitiesoperation of the site.

  • Promote safety culture across sites including with customers,subcontractors, suppliers and support EHS program requirements.

Vendor Management: 20%

  • Assist with the coordination of the Contractor access to the site forthe duration of the project.

  • Address contractual and technical issues with the construction teamto ensure clear understanding of the construction project scope ismaintained.

  • Coordinating the procurement of goods and services to supportentering into service dates for new construction.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Science ,Construction Management or related field or a HighSchool diploma with 7+ years of project management experience

  • 7+ years of experience in Project Management.

  • 5+ years of experience developing and managing a budget subject to external andinternal demands and changes.

  • 5+ years of experience managing subcontractor activities in a production or industrialenvironment.

  • Working knowledge and application of OSHA, ISO, NFPA, ANSI and ADA standards required.

  • General knowledge of FAA, EASA and ICAO.

  • Carrying: Daily able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

  • Lifting: Daily able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

  • Pushing / Pulling: Daily able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.

  • Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.

  • Squatting / Kneeling: Daily able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.

  • Travel: Rarely able to travel independently and at short notice.
