Summary of position-

This Aviation Maintenance Technician is an onsite position supporting a CRJ 900 based at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. As the dedicated mechanic for this aircraft, you will need to be present for all aircraft departures and arrivals and will be responsible for serving as the primary point of contact for flight crew debriefs, perform service checks, preventative maintenance, and work with Production Control to coordinate scheduled inspections and line maintenance.

When not actively supporting the aircraft, you will contribute to maintenance control functions in support of the broader Elevate Jet fleet. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, professionalism, and technical expertise across the CRJ platform.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities-

Aircraft Dedication

  • Present for all scheduled departures and arrivals; conduct post-flight debriefs with flight crews to capture discrepancies, squawks, and maintenance observations.
  • Perform, document, and manage scheduled inspections (weekly/monthly) per manufacturer maintenance manuals and applicable FAA regulations.
  • Lead AOG response, including after-hours on-call, parts sourcing, and travel for aircraft recovery.
  • Provide on-site support during major MRO inspections.
  • Maintain airworthiness, documentation accuracy, FOD control, and compliance with FAA Parts 43, 65, and 145 at all times.

Maintenance Control

  • Support maintenance control operations for the managed fleet when not on dedicated aircraft duties.
  • Coordinate with MRO technicians, vendors, and operators to track and resolve open maintenance items.
  • Maintain accurate records for all work performed, parts used, and maintenance statuses.
  • Participate in company training and continuous improvement initiatives; perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities-

  • 5-10 years of documented aircraft inspection, maintenance, and repair experience as an FAA A&P technician.
  • Minimum two (2) years of practical inspection and maintenance experience on the CRJ series; CRJ-900 strongly preferred.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations as they relate to aircraft inspection, maintenance, parts control, and return to service.
  • Ability to interpret and execute manufacturer maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with flight crews, operators, and management.
  • Basic project management skills; able to drive tasks through to completion and provide timely updates to management and customers.
  • Experience supporting maintenance control or fleet coordination functions is a plus.

Education & Experience-

  • Valid and current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate required.
  • Formal factory maintenance training on the CRJ-900 or equivalent documented experience is strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.

Schedule & Travel-

  • Schedule is driven by aircraft operations and customer requirements, nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required to support the client.
  • Must be available to report to the aircraft for all departures and arrivals, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as the operation demands.
  • Travel is required and may include multi-day domestic and/or international on-site customer support trips for AOG and heavy maintenance events.
