FSM Group, LLC, an aviation fuel management company with multiple locations in the US, has an immediate need for a Fuel Facility Supervisor at its LaGuardia Airport operation. The Fuel Facility Supervisor must have general working knowledge of a fuel facility operation and have worked in a Fuel Facility similar in size / operation. The position will provide supervision and direction to all operational employees assigned to that shift under their direction.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • During the assign shift, coordinate all responsibilities and activities for all operation personnel
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance and quality control requirements are performed and meet industry standards
  • Review all shift paperwork, daily reports, work orders and records for the operations during the shift
  • Support Tank Farm Operators as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record
  • Pass a federal fingerprint background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Have proof of eligibility to work in the US
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Leadership experience and/or skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Fuel Quality Assurance and Fuel Quality Control industry practices, along with applicable ATA, IATA, OSHA standards
  • Ability to calculate figures such as loss/gains, inventories, inches/feet to gallons/barrels conversions

Additional Requirements:
  • Small engine experience
  • Electronic diagnosis ability
  • 1-year related experience working on gasoline or aviation fuel trucks or fuel farms and/or training - and/or combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of internet software and smart phone apps
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to commute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Physical and Environmental Requirements:
This position requires sustained physical effort and consistent exposure to outdoor and potentially hazardous work environments. The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Mobility and Access
  • Must be able to climb up and down stairs and ladders with 50+ steps and work at heights of 50 feet or more, including high, precarious places
  • Must be able to get in and out of vehicles of varying sizes and heights
  • Must be able to drive and operate vehicles and equipment of various sizes, including automated lifts up to 26 feet

Lifting and Carrying
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds overhead
  • Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds to waist level
  • Must be able to shovel materials such as snow, sand, dirt, gravel, or rocks as needed
